Open Positions
- We are currently seeking enthusiastic applicants for the following positions to work on exciting new questions on the forefront of the neurophysiology of human memory and epilepsy and applications of AI to brain signal data.
- This research is funded by the NIH and NSF. It is in collaboration with the Chang Lab at UCSF.
- For all positions below, we strongly encourage scholars from all backgrounds including women and underrepresented minorities to apply.
- Please email your CV and a brief statement of why you personally are interested to [email protected]
1) Postdoctoral Researcher (more info here)
PhD in a field related to neuroscience, engineering, or computational biology
Must be highly skilled in programming in Python or MATLAB
Experience with signal processing (for example, experience with Fourier and wavelet transforms/analysis)
Enthusiasm, adaptability, reliability, and ability to work and interact positively with people of all types from diverse backgrounds
2) Data Scientist/Bioinformatics programmer:
Degree (Master or PhD preferred) in biological science, computational/programming, or related field.
Job scope:
- Maintaining and enhancing computational infrastructure
- Managing the flow of brain signal data from raw recording to analysis
- Designing and optimizing databases
- Developing and applying algorithms, computational methods, and statistical approaches
- Leading novel investigation projects in advanced human neuroscience, depending on training and skill level
The Kleen Lab also consists of enthusiastic and committed undergraduate and medical students, residents, and other trainees with backgrounds in neuroscience, computer/data science, engineering, and/or machine learning. Since nearly all of the projects in the Lab investigate new questions with large and unique (and exciting!) datasets, applicants are required to have pre-existing skilled background in programming with either Matlab or Python, without exception.
Note: Use of LLMs (e.g. ChatGPT) to write code does not equate to the proficiency/skilled background required, and such programming tools will not be used in projects in this lab.
